Hello there! Nice of you to check out our new Product of the Month blog.

During the month of April, we would like to attract your attention to a colorful and beautiful flower, called Freesia. During the coming weeks, we will give your some in-depth information on the various aspects of this delicate and happy cut-flower.

The origin of Freesia takes us back to South Africa in the year 1830, where the Freesia received it’s name after the German doctor Freese. It was botanist mr. Ecklon, a friend of dr. Freese, who gave him the honor to be the name-bearer of the, now well-known and wide-spread, Freesia.

The floral family to which Freesia belongs is the same as Iris and Gladiolus. But, as occurs in most families, the resemblance is not visible to everybody.

Tune in next week for more…
