The city of Haarlem (close to Amsterdam) is generally know as the ‘City of Flowers’ because it used to be the centre of the tulip trade in the 17th century. Nowadays, there is no doubt where the real centre of tulip trade is located: here at Anton Spaargaren of course. And perhaps a bit at Flora Holland too (or was it the other way around?) Anyway, the days when a bulb was literally worth it’s weight in gold are brought back at the Flower Mania exhibition in Haarlem. Paintings and artefacts tell the amazing history of the bulb bubble. And of course the museum will be decorated with a lot of fresh flowers. For those who happen to be in the neighbourhood worth a visit!
