December Dutch “party-month”

Monday December 1st, the first day of our national “party-month”!  As in most countries the Dutch celebrate X-mas, but we celebrate Sinterklaas as well, a big event especially for the children. So two major events in this short period. In this one month, household expenditures rise on an average of 30%, which gives a big economic impulse. Mostly spent on toys, foods & drinks in restaurants, champagne and fireworks. And of course a party-month without flowers just isn’t complete.
